TenCate, a global leader in synthetic turf solutions, has unveiled Pivot® Performance Turf, the first artificial grass system designed to truly replicate the performance and feel of natural grass. Engineered using biomechanical data collected from college and professional athletes, Pivot provides superior traction, cushioning, and playability without the need for performance infill.

Unlike traditional turf, Pivot features 16 times as many individual fibers as competing systems, giving it unmatched durability and a 50% longer lifespan. It is also the first fully recyclable synthetic turf with no detectable PFAS, making it a sustainable choice for sports facilities looking to minimize environmental impact.

“Pivot is the world’s first synthetic turf that plays like grass, requires no performance infill and is able to be recycled, an unbeatable combination that is truly a gamechanger,” said Joe Fields, President and Chief Executive Officer of TenCate Americas. “It’s a transformative breakthrough that outperforms and outlasts other turfs, benefiting players and the planet for years to come.”

Tested extensively by athletes using biosensors, Pivot delivers the stability, grip, and shock absorption necessary for high-performance sports. Eric George, Deputy Athletic Director at Rice University, praised its playability, highlighting its comfort and reduced risk of turf burns.

Beyond performance, Pivot offers key environmental benefits. Without infill, it reduces plastic shedding, requires fewer raw materials, and eliminates the need for water, fertilizers, and pesticides. It meets stringent safety standards, including California Proposition 65 compliance, and is approved by FIFA, the NFL, and NCAA.

Manufactured with a blend of advanced XP yarns and newly developed fibers, Pivot comes in multiple face weights and color options to suit various sports applications. It is also available with GeoCool™, a cooling technology designed to reduce surface temperatures in warm climates.

“Every now and then, something comes along that revolutionizes a technology, and for synthetic turf, that moment is now,” Dr. Young said. “Pivot looks, feels and plays like grass from the season opener to the championship final — game after game, season after season, year after year.”
