ACT Global America installs a New Softball Turf Field at Yukon High School Campus

ACT Global America won the bidding war in May 2022 to install a new synthetic turf softball field at the Yukon High School campus. The new field will be ready when the new season starts in the fall of 2022. The cost of the new softball turf field adds up to $537,972 and is funded by the $194 million bond issue approved by the Yukon Public Schools’ voters in November of 2021. 

More efficient drainage, increased safety, reduced need for maintenance and cost of water and fertilizers were some of the motives listed for choosing a synthetic turf field instead of a dirt field. There is also a plan in place to install synthetic turf at the indoor baseball/softball facility in 2023 and in 2024 on the varsity baseball field.
